Heads = Corrupt and Arrogant, therefore Tails = ? : John 10:10

Double headed snakes and dead woods
in BN grassroot leadership

Good leaders that have humility are worth respecting...

As Ning and I were lining up to board our flight to Penang on Wednesday afternoon, I spotted a familiar face standing in front of us in the queue. So I whispered to Ning. Me: Look in front of us. It's Guan Eng.

Ning: Who?

Me: YAB Mr. Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Penang.

Ning: No lah.

Me: Yes lah! I know how he looks lah. It's the CM lah.

Ning: Takkan CM jalan sorang sorang. If he's the CM, where's the bodyguards and the officers and the rombongan and kaum kerabat?

Me: Tak percaya? Watch and learn.
So I walked up to Yang Amat Berhormat, introduced myself and asked to take a picture. He smiled and obliged.

YAB CM: Hey, I know you! You're Ning Baizura!

Ning: YAB Lim, good afternoon.

YAB CM: Come, come, we take a picture. Vernon, here's my card. Email me the pictures OK.

Me: Definitely, sir.

Ambik kau. CM pun peminat katanya!
Ning and I really felt honoured. But we felt more surprised that the Chief Minister of a state was travelling all by himself like any normal rakyat jelata. But the biggest surprise in store for us was yet to come.

As usual, we sat in First Class. I expected the CM to be seated somewhere in front of us but then I realised he wasn't in First Class. Where did he disappear to???

I popped my head round the curtain that veils First Class and Economy Class and guess who I saw sitting in the front row seat of Economy quietly reading the newspapers?
YAB Mr. Lim, you have my deepest respect. You have made history by being the first Chief Minister in this country to sit in Economy Class whilst in office as Chief Minister. You really mean what you say when you talk about cost-cutting. Sir, you have shown me leadership by example.

Setting the way ......  Salam 1Malaysia
Of course I asked permission to take his picture sitting in Economy and he laughed. And I said I'd blogged about it and he laughed some more, and gave permission. Ketua Menteri yang berjiwa rakyat.

comments from an Malaysian Christian Voter:

In answer to your question 'Is this what we should aim for?" the answer is yes absolutely.   When I was a student in the Tri-state region of North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota, their political leaders always travelled low key.  Imagine a governor of a state driving his own car (usually unfancied sedans) when he travels from state capitol to the Prairie farms?  Sometimes all by himself even.  I remembered we had a governor as speaker in one of our lectures and he drove into the college parking lot unannounced, without the pomp and snobbery associated with so many leaders in other countries.   Though the population of the Tri state region is only about 6 million people their regional GNP is way above our national GNP.  It is time for those in lofty positions to come down to earth!!
Moreover leaders should chose to open up themselves to the people.  I myself even attended a frat party at Gov. Bob Sinner's house (fellow Sabahans A.. B .. or P. S. might have been there too), shook hands with ND Congressman Byron Dorgan, and met a certain Henry Hyde (Illinois Congressman) who officiated the opening of a trading house started by our fellow Sabahan A.Y, Hennry Hyde was the chairman of the House subcommittee during the impeachment hearings regarding President Bill Clinton.  My relatives in Chicago recalled those days when Obama was a senator in their home state.  By the way Mr Obama also has relatives in Sandakan and Indonesia!  My point is this -  a leader needs to be approachable by the masses or rakyat, otherwise he is just some distant 'talking head' seen occasionally on TV.
Please more

The Kings of the East--A New Nation in Borneo

Toward the end of last December I wrote an article about "The Kings of the East" and how this is at least part of the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. In the days of Daniel, the kings of the east were Cyrus and Darius, who conquered Babylon. Today, it is a bit different, but yet we are seeing the formation of a new nation called The Royal Kingdom of Borneo.

Many people do not even know where Borneo is located, nor do they understand its importance in the financial arena. But the United Nations has decided to set up a new Kingdom, made up of Borneo itself, and adding to it the southern part of the Philippines including the Sulu islands and Mindanao itself.

As many of you may know I spent many years of my early life on Mindanao, and I have been on quite a number of the southern islands of the Sulu Sea that stretch all the way to Borneo. So I have always maintained an interest in the area and have studied its history with the wars with the Dutch and the Spanish a few centuries ago.

There has been an insurgency group in that area for decades, attempting to obtain independence from Manila. It has always been rumored that the insurgents wanted to join with Borneo. Well, now we are actually seeing this happen. So far it has only appeared on news in China.

AN E-MAIL ALERT FROM A CHRISTIAN FRIEND - BALIK KAMPONG DONG!

Borneo pygmy elephantImage by papayatreelimited via FlickrBorneo blank mapImage via WikipediaThe Coat of Arms of Indonesia is called Garuda...Image via WikipediaDifferences between Indonesia & Malaysia - Both are Muslim Countries

Differences between Indonesia & Malaysia from a retired German lecturer P. Feisenberg who had worked in Penang during Tunku's days and in Jakarta in Suharto's time. An interesting account of his observations & gloomy prediction of the future of a young nation ...

A big divide between the two countries yet they live next to each other and both are Muslim countries. I always tell my friend that Indonesia is not the best country in the world to work and live but since working in Indonesia for about 5 years, I don’t have the feeling that I am living in a Muslim country despite 93% of Indonesians are Muslim. 99.9% of my colleagues are Muslim and we go for lunch and dinner together and sometimes to a Chinese restaurant that served pork and there is no fuss about it. (For your information – the people who sell pork are Muslim – bosses are Chinese and employ Indonesian Muslim to cut and sell pork in the wet markets)

All 5-star hotels served pork bacon and ham for breakfast and are prepared by Muslim. Alcohol is sold everywhere in the street… and Indonesia No 1 selling beer is “Bintang” and is brewed locally and is consumed by all Muslim openly. No issue….

During fasting month the Muslims are free to decide if they want to fast or eat as normal… no issue at all and no one catch them.. The president and vice president are elected by the people and so are the governors of the city (in Malaysia we call them Mentri Besar). No one is appointed by the President or in Malaysia by the PM.

National holidays – Hari Raya Idul Fitri is 2 days and Chinese New Year is 1 day but Christian enjoy 3 days – Christmas, Ascension of Christ and Good Friday. The Hindu in Bali has 1 day for Hari Raya Nyepi celebrated only in Bali. Wesak day is also a public holiday. A Muslim can convert to a Christian tomorrow and then to a Buddhist the next day…and back to a Muslim. ….no issue at all. In supermarket pork is sold side by side with chicken and beef….no issue at all…..

I can go on and on…….in short Indonesia is a very liberal Muslim country.. definitely not Malaysia. FYI our Malaysian senior government officer “suka Indonesia ”…you know why!!! Subject: Another Report: Why I left for our ‘poorer’ neighbour — Indonesia

This writer is absolutely correct and gave a very fair view of Indonesia. I have been in and out of Indonesia for the past 10 years. Sometimes, my stay is up to one month per visit. I have worked with senior Indonesia managers as well as low level staff. I have also interacted with lots of direct sellers from all sorts of background. I have dealt with the Indonesian civil servants.

They don't talk about race. The mass media do not propagate racial or religious divides. They don't spin story of Christian fighting the Muslim or Muslim fighting the Christian. Husband and wife can have different religious belief. There is not such fuss as Halal restaurant. Tony Roma in Indonesia serves the best pork rib. In all the Tony Roma restaurants Muslim and non Muslim sit and eat together on one table. I ate pork rib, my Muslim colleagues ate beef and lamb. There is no such thing as a Halal and non Halal section.

Comparing the environment and the working culture in Indonesia between pre 1998 (Suharto's era) and the year 2008, you can see the vast improvement in Indonesia civil services. During Suharto era, my visit to Tax office (Kantor Pajak) cannot be done without carrying cash for coffee money. The tax officer will always start with " Pak dari Malaysia mahu chak kopi dulu". And this small favor money must be given and openly counted on his desk before any discussion.

My last visit in 2008 to the government office (Departmen Pentadbiran, you cannot use Jabatan Kerajaan. They hated the Raja), you cannot even mention anything about "Kopi". See the vast difference. SYB sent his own brother-in-law to jail. Suharto's youngest son, Tommy Suharto was jailed. Can you see Dr M sending his son to jail amidst all his BIG talk.
"Proboscis  Monk? of Borneo" (gambar hiasan)

Malaysia is rotting. And the writer is absolutely correct. If the situation is not changed, Malaysia will be the biggest exporter of maids to Indonesia, 10 years down the road. Padam muka orang orang kampong. Muslims in Indonesia have no problem with patronizing outlets that sell alcohol or non-halal food, even if they choose not to have any. In Malaysia, the Muslims make a big fuss over smallest of issues as if they have nothing else to do with their time, You may argue that there are fanatics here in Indonesia, but the number is small relative to the population. Just look around Malaysia, the population is small and yet everywhere you look, you get fanatics shouting n waving their fists.

The graphic poverty of the Sabahan (Kalimantan Utara) natives are well illustrated by some of the opposition parties as seen in the following video clip:

Ephesians 6:11-18 (KJV) 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
INTERCEDE FOR THE NATIONS AND ESPECIALLY  OUR CHRISTIANS IN POLITICS (for many are ignorant, and sometimes arrogant because of the wealth and powerful connections, of the wiles of the enemies)

Politics And Politicians
As Malaysians are superstitious. It is difficult to separate everyday life from superstition and religion. Politics in Malaysia, is no different. It well known that politicians themselves seek astrologers, bomoh, feng shui masters etc to cause supernatural forces to influence the political results in their favour. It is a well known fact in Malaysia that the general elections or party elections are when bomoh’s make money from politicians. Politicians believe that bomohs and other spiritualists can obtain success for them through higher powers.
In the last recent general election astrologers and feng shui consultants were also consulted to predict the results. And this was what they said – read: feng shui and politics.
In this region there are a variety of bomohs. There is the Indonesian bomoh (bomoh Indonesia), the Malay bomoh (bomoh Melayu), the indegenius people bomoh (bomoh Orang Asli, sometimes also called bomoh Sakai or bobohizan) and the Siamese bomoh (bomoh Siam or Tok Cha).
Then each bomoh sepcialises in different areas of expertise. There is a bomoh politik (whose clients are mainly politicians), bomoh artis (whose clients are mainly artiste), bomoh wang (for those with financial needs), bomoh nombor (for those gamblers who bet on 4D lottery), bomoh ilmu hitam / sihir (bomoh’s who uses black magic), bomoh urut (bomoh who heals using massage theraphy), and there is also a bomoh seks (presumably bomoh’s who specialises in love and sexual matters). Bomoh make use of animal sacrifice, plants, herbs followed by jampi (magic spells) in their rituals.

Prophecies for Malaysia and Thailand - by Chuck D. Pierce

Flag of the Malaysian state Selangor.Image via Wikipedia
Thank you so much for praying and giving toward our trip to Asia. That assignment was non-stop, but we saw breakthrough fromKorea to Thailand to Malaysia. As I previously shared, it is difficult to navigate through Malaysia's political and religious factions. In the middle of one of my sessions, Daniel Ho, a leading apostolic leader, received a call from the state's Sultan (Islamic leadership) to come in for questioning. The week before, his fellowship had hosted a "thanksgiving meal" where people of other faiths were invited. The religious police actually stormed his facility, creating national and international news. I made time to visit their church, and immediately sensed an incredible angelic presence.
Dr. Daniel Ho (Apostle)
I then remembered the word the Lord had given me early on the morning of Sunday, June 26: "Daniel will withstand his testing!" At the time I received it, I really did not know to whom or what it applied. However, when I was with Apostle Daniel, the Spirit of God quickened that word and I declared it over him. He will need great wisdom and favor as he moves through the legal process that may ensue. Continue to lift him up as well as the other apostles of God's Kingdom in the nation of Malaysia.
Incredible revelation came forward in every meeting. Below are several of the prophecies that were released during our time there:
"You Have Entered Your Next Three Years"
And the Lord would say to Malaysia, "You have entered your next three years. This night represents a transition into the three years ahead. The warfare will grow very strong in the next sixteen months. Do not, do not, do not back off, but enter into celebration and enter into rejoicing. And in the midst of the warfare coming against you there will be breakthrough after breakthrough after breakthrough for My people in this land!
"You will enter the season called 'contending,' but these three years I am changing the rule of the heavens. I am changing the rule of the heavens, because tonight represents that in the earth realm. My people are taking a stand in a new way, and where they have not been fully understood in one season, I will now raise them up and they will begin to rule the atmosphere of the heavens in this land.
"These three years are important to understand. You are entering your next three-year transition this night. From this, a new administration is beginning. You are moving into a Kingdom administration that has never been fully expressed in this land or that which has come from this land to other lands.
"You have been waiting for Me, but I have been waiting for you. I have been waiting for you to get positioned, because I have a sound in you that has never developed and come forth with power. This year, choose for the sound of Malaysia to rise up in the worship of this rainbow nation. And if you will do that, I will unlock the riches of the promise that I have put over the land. If you'll worship from north to south, and from east to west, and then gather for three days, I will re-sanctify this land in days ahead. You are a people that will roar mightily in days ahead, so allow Me to draw My sound out of you.
"Enter in With Me"
"There will be a consolidating of ministries. I am going to have people cross over and I'm going to cause them to begin to be grafted into new councils, in new ways. I am going to cause revelation from one season to be brought into a new season. I am going to cause a people to be trained up to hear. I am going to cause a people to rise up to worship. Behold, I do a new thing and you are on the verge of entering in that new thing. You are closer than you know.
"Come beyond your 11 season and enter with Me into 12. But enter in with Me and know there is a new administration, and a new way of doing things, and a new core mission, and a new way of aligning. Recognize the fathers and mothers in your midst and enter in with Me. And if you will enter in, I will come with My power, I will come with My glory, and I will create a people that begin to express Me in a way that will shake the lands around this nation.
"For the dragon nations are now at a place of choice. But I have a people who I am rising up like oxen and lions. And because I am rising up the oxen and lions in My nations, they will roar with a sound that changes the atmosphere and creates a new prophetic covering. I have new sounds and new songs over you. I have new ways of expression I am calling you to. I have new ways of prosperity. For I am a God, who, if you align with My covenant, you will prosper.
"I am preparing the people to come up out of the wilderness as a Bride to meet Me in a new way. I am preparing a people who are going to raise the veil from the last season and see Me new and fresh in a new season."(I saw a lace veil of His glory coming down on the people, and they only needed to reach up into it!) The Lord says, "I'm clothing you for a new season. I'm clothing you. I'm giving you new identities. This new identity that I'm putting on you is creating conflict where you walk and what you do. You will have grace to deal with your conflict."
Some of you are pressing for your life out of the last season. You have had bad diagnoses physically, and the Lord says you're going to press out! Watch the signs. I hear Him saying there will be dramatic healings in this new season. Dramatic healings! That's what God is saying. I don't know even what that means. Dramatic healings in the new season.
"You Will Now Dance a New Dance of Triumph and Victory!"
The Lord said, "There will be such a worship shift. For this new veil will enable you to dance in a way you've never danced before. The wedding dance is beginning over Malaysia, and His people will dance. Where they couldn't dance in the last 16 years, they will now dance a new dance of triumph and victory!"
Continue to pray for the worship shift which must occur in Malaysia. Whereas Korea and Thailand have broken into a new dimension of worship, the Body of Christ in Malaysia must go beyond where they have been before and enter a new season where their worship presses them past conflict and contention, into a level of authority and victory they have never before experienced.
When we were in Thailand in August 2008, I prophesied, "Get ready! You will open the gateway of the divine worship." When we returned in October 2010, I prophesied that "the world would know Thailand as the Land of Worship." Consequently, Apostle Nimit saw the need to host a gathering that would focus on: Unlocking the true call to worship of the Thai people.

A Note from Dr. Joseph Ozawa

The Bakun Dam in Malaysia.Image via Wikipedia
Dear friends and intercessors:
Thank you for your prayers for those who have prayed!
SIBU, THE LAND AND PEOPLE:
Our meetings were held in Sibu, Sarawak. The area surrounding the city is heavily populated by Ibans, many who live in longhouses, but the city itself is comprised of many Chinese, esp. the Foochow (Fuzhou / Hockchiu) people group (who also are found in Sitawan, West Malaysia, a place where I have ministered and been received very warmly). The percentage of Christians in Sibu and Sarawak is the highest in Malaysia .
Sibu was the site of a major election battle in 2010 and is downstream from the controversial "Bakun dam,"  -- the largest dam in Malaysia which displaced >9,000 First Nations peoples and decimated a rainforest the size of Singapore
THE PRAYER CONFERENCE:  A FIRST
For the first time in history, all major churches in Malaysia were represented or supportive of the prayer conference, including Catholics & Protestants; mainline denominations to independent churches; Pentecostal, charismatic to conservative, non-charismatic churches; etc.  The unity itself was major miracle!  (John 17:23)
I was honored to join the esteemed Bishop of the Methodist Church, Rev Dr. Hwa Yung as a keynote speaker.  And despite my usual offbeat, unorthodox style in message (I held no jokes back), the response was positive and the Holy Spirit touched many in a loving yet powerful way.
THE YOUTH:
God is raising up a new generation, young and vibrant, "on fire" yet wise beyond their chronological ages.
THE LAND:
I showed a special video by Kelabit Esta Bala about life in Bario, followed by my sharing my "warning" dream about the land.  The intercessors responded strongly, as Sibu itself is in the midst of a major ecological tragedy.  Debris and mud from the Bakun dam flooded the Rajang River, causing ALL the fish, big and small, to "rise to the surface dead." The locals were heartbroken.
FORGIVENESS AND RECONCILIATION:
I was led to teach Sat. morning on identification repentance and the people responded with passion East vs. West Malaysia, Chinese vs. indigenous natives, between denominations reconciled. Some fell to the ground sobbing; some hugged in a rare Asian demonstration of reconciliation.   It reminded me of my times w/ the Singhalese and Tamils in Sri Lanka or the Hutu and Tutsi people in Rwanda . Deeply felt, wholly God.
PRAYERS:
Please pray for:
1) The Holy Spirit to anoint intercessors to move in power in Malaysia , especially the youth, to engage the spiritual powers and bring justice and revival to the land.
2) Wisdom for me and for God to order my every step (Is 30:21), even well in 2011 as I am overwhelmed by requests to preach / teach / minister in Singapore and Malaysia .
It was a great honor to be with the Foochow people of Sibu (as in Sitiawan), a people targeted by both John Sung and Watchman Nee, to worship with the Sidang Injil Borneo worship team, to co-minister with the youth and to "fan the flames" (2 Tim 1:6) of revival, unity, and love in Malaysia.
"The Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way"
(2 Thes 3:16)
Dr. Joseph Ozawa @ Achang (Lun Bawang) @ Ngutat Bala (Kelabit)
Dear Ann,
Thanks for inviting me to the MNPN Convocation in Sibu.  I was greatly blessed.
East Malaysia has been something special in my heart ever since I went for my first mission trip to Lawas in Sarawak about 28 years ago!  This Convocation therefore has revived my burden and love for East Malaysians.
Dr. Osawa's presentation has awakened the burden to pray more for East Malaysia and to ask the Lord to preserve the land from exploitation.  More than that we pray that God will send revival again to Sabah and Sarawak as He has done so in the past.
Bishop Hwa Yung's sermon (is thoughtful) has also raised an awareness of the danger the church in Malaysia is facing.  We have a choice to face revival or slow extinction!!
The choice of Melaka as the next venue is indeed led by the Lord.  Melaka was the gateway when the Gospel first touched the shores of Malaysia and the Lord has shown that it will once again be a big gateway to usher in the revival that we are all praying for.  This is an exciting relevation and we will certainly pray and look forward to it.
In Christ,
Ps Khim
Touched by the unity of members of different churches coming together.  Bishop Dominic Su’s message was a confirmation of the same message delivered to Sibu Christians from another group from Singapore.  Bishop Dr Hwa Yung’s message in the Methodist church was an answer to many years of prayer.  To Jesus be all the glory.  -  Mary Chieng
This convocation strengthens my faith to pray and intercede more. ‘Is there anything too hard for the Lord?’ No!!!  - Lee Chet Fang

Suggestions:
-          Must prepare a feedback form
-          PowerPoint must be well operated for all events and items
-          Worship team is good but prefer to have 3 languages worship Praise Team
-          Food and rest place is good enough  - Alex Wong

-          Good environment
-          A good convocation with sufficient prayer and information from Sabah and Sarawak and prayer networks
-          Good workshop discussions
-          Good preaching and important message by Bishop Hwa Yung
-          Good ministry by Dr Joe Ozawa
-          Good relationship with participants
-          Good worship
Overall grade A
PS  food could be better though – more vegetable and meat
Thanks a lot for the organizing committee which had put in a lot of time and thoughts etc.
God bless you all richly        - no name

-          Why no morning prayer? Should have morning prayer as option  - 5.00am – 6.30 am daily
-          Sharing and group prayer items very useful for prayer to continue to pray later – after the convocation
-          Time of praying for one another was good but too short – should limit group size to 3 max – to make most effective use of time
-          3 Chinese speaking delegates did not seem to know why they were here – as though someone had signed them up and they came because of that.  They  were unwilling to leave their contact info – did not seem interested in praying for the nation.      – no name

My church did not mention about this prayer convocation but my friend encouraged me to come. I am glad I did.  I learn more about prayer and sense the urgency of prayer for the nation.  What I observe is that most of the prominent pastors and church leaders from the churches in Sibu are not there. There is still not enough unity.  I am not particular about the taste of food. However, I hope it can be more health conscious (eg to a lot of participants chicken wings may not be the best option – more suitable for younger ones).  I like the Lighthouse-Watchmen Prayer Network and hope to be able to carry it out.  -    no name

Thank you MNPN for a well-organized convocation. The talks and sharing are all well-chosen and have helped us to be better intercessors.  – no name

It was refreshing for me. I enjoyed the interaction with other people and especially the evening services. Dr Ozawa carried a gentle anointing. The steps of the hostel were challenging especially with heavy bags.  –  Ps Khim Ang

This event has been God’s timing as it is great to see how God’s people coming from various background to worship and pray together as a united force which should be mobilized at all major cities and towns even in the rural areas. Thank God for the hard work of the organizing committee.
-          I comment about the venue is that it is a good place for a prayer convocation such as this.
-          I am reminded that we need to go back to the simple lifestyle which I saw is available in this place
-          It is a vital beginning and we need to maintain to flow with God as He moves. Question: How are we going to do so?  I believe God will do it through MNPN.    – Rev James Lee

This convocation has taught me in many areas-
Be simple and obedient. I have desire to pray more.
We made many new friends and sense the prayer movement has started in Malaysia.  The prayer anointing can be felt over this convocation. In 2011 may we meet with more from other parts of Malaysia. Hope we can have all the states of Malaysia share their needs in 2011 in Melaka.  – Lim Tiok Hua

As I was preparing to come to this convocation, I don’t know what to expect. But I praise God that I did. Rev Hwa Yung’s message shook me a bit. Sometimes we take our Christian life for granted. We forget the Church is called to holiness and I think that was a reminder to us.  Rev Lee Tak Vui also did a good job presenting MNPN and explaining what it is al about.  But I was really touched by the respect of all the participants that come from all denominations. Before this we don’t know what will be the reaction of the Mainline and Charismatic combined plus using the Catholic premises.  In all this I can only give credit to God. Indeed God did His work among His people.  – Susan Gan

I’m grateful for joining this seminar.  I’m really amazed seeing so many sisters and brothers in Christ from different places and churches come together and pray for our country, Malaysia.  It really touched my heart and let me see how important it is to pray for our country. Along the way, God let me see my own weakness and how important to pray for Malaysia and not for our church and personal matters only.  -  Goh Li Lian

This convocation is really mobilizing.  I suggest we have a prayer room for those who wish to pray during the free time.  -  Phoebe Kiu

Good room.  Prayer item is not really link to speaker’s message. Maybe we can pray for Muslims.  -  Tan Boon Hong

I thank God for guiding me here. This is my first time to Sibu.  I found that every program of this prayer convocation runs smoothly and I enjoy my stay and every session is good. Thank you.  -  Jane Junit

It’s a wonderful time to be with MNPN as a team to pray for all churches and for our country Malaysia.  We are in the family of God. Thank you God. Thank you everyone present here in Catholic  Sibu Diocesan Pastoral Retreat Centre. Thank you MNPN for arranging this function so that we could pray together to transform our nation.  We pray, God does everything.  Thank you Rev Ann.   -   Rev Chieng Puong Kui

Thank God for this ministry (MNPN) birthing forth.  Jer 33:3.  God our Father is preparing His people to be aggressive in prayers, interceding stations over the nation of Malaysia, every tribe, touching the heart beat of the Father, and with the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, from grace to grace, glory to glory, strength to strength, as God our Father as started, He’ll bring it to accomplish till the day our Lord returns.  Ps 65:11-13. Amen God bless.    – Esther Yong Pit Sia

I have my small prayer group called Mountain Group.  These 3 days I received a lot from the Lord and the pastors’ messages, besides knowing a lot of brothers and sisters in Christ.  -  Agnes Teoh

To the committee - I am so thankful to be here. I did not know what to expect but the Lord knows why. He stirred my heart to come.  I have been praying for Malaysia for many years, and want to be a part of this history. I want to be a history maker. God is good and He does all things in the right time.  So yes to more years for us to pray and the Jubilee - will be there. As we repented on behalf of West Malaysia, God impress on me that we have taken the blessing away from East Malaysia and that we are like Eli and his sons taking the fat of the meat and that we will receive what He has set for us unless we pray and repent. We need to be strong and turn away from the greed and lust for prosperity.  And not be scared to be disciplined like Eli was not strong to discipline his sons and death came. So pray for turning away from the fat and prosperity, and greed and humble ourselves in God’s presence.  Thank you again for the hard work. ‘Well done good and faithful servant’.   -  no name      email    alystel@gmail.com

Good food and room.  Good organization. Blessed by Bishop Hwa Yung’s sermon – Revival is a must.  Thank you Lord for Dr Ozawa. Received good insight into strategic intercession.  Totally inspired. Will carry on.   Thank you.   – Margaret T Chellappah

On the whole I am energized and renewed in my prayer life. Bishop Hwa Yung’s point on ‘the church will finally die under the majority Islamic rule’ really spur me on praying for the nation.  The different prayer networks help us to know we are not alone in the work of God and we can partner together.  The first session on worship needs to be improved. No lyrics, no power point so we could not flow along in praising and worshipping God. Dr Ozawa’s session on ‘strategic intercession’ once again make it clear of the importance of strategic intercession.  SIB Bethel has done a good job in leading praise and worship. -  Sia Mee Hua

When I first heard of this Prayer Convocation in Sibu a few months ago, without a second thought, I make up my mind and decide I want to attend.  Because I very desperately to know more about prayer, how to pray to God, when I am in despair or in trouble.  This prayer convocation indeed inspired me a lot but I still feel that there should be a session on workshop for ‘how to pray’. God bless.   -  no name  email   bluemelda@yahoo.com

This first convocation has been a wonderful blessing to us. I came wanting to hear what God is saying to us at this time, I wanted to focus on what God wants us to pray, so that our prayers offered in unity will go up as incense to the Lord. My team is‘re-fired’ and all ready to continue to pray. Looking to the next convocation.    -  Agnes Voo

‘Excellent’ – glory to God. Looking forward to 2011 in Melaka.  – Melinda Lo

All glory to Jesus. It is awesome. I sense God is well pleased as He sees His children coming together in unity in prayer.  I hear the urgency to continue to intercede for our nation and the next generation continuously. Thank God for the organizing committee, speakers and all participants. – Helen How

Lighthouse Watchmen Group
Dr Chan shared her testimony of how the Lighthouse Watchmen group was birthed (printed notes too). She also shared the results seen after this Lighthouse Watchmen group started in particular tamans.
This touched our hearts and we want to start prayer cell groups for our own tamans.  We know it is God’s desire.  We thank Dr Chan for giving us the rules and regulations of this group (we have both the spoken word and the printed ones too). All the interested participants gave their names, email address and tel. nos. to Dr Chan.  We have her contact too. We are glad we can contact Dr Chan if we need help or clarification.

MYPG
1)      What is MYPG?  Desire to see God move in Malaysia. Started and manage solely by young people.
2)      There seems to be a gap between the older generation and young or misunderstandings
3)      Youth/young people like challenge. Yearn guidance by the adults. Mentors/leaders & pastors. Want a collaboration with adults – Elijah & Elisha.   There would be a connection between the generations. Yearn for the adults to bless/double blessing from the adults
4)      MYPG desires to redefine this generation. Want to see youth/young adults obey the call to ‘go’. MYPG not just pray but also the doing.  MYPG seeks to break and bridge the gap between the generations.  Unity is the key.  If you want revival, judgment will come. Are you willing/ready? Revival comes also with a price. In order for revival to continue, holiness and holy lives are essential.
5)      3 years to raise up a generation that will give up their lives for Christ. MYPG is a lifestyle too.

Summary: MYPG to see God move His church, not about the generation – young or old.
Added notes:  Media has great influence on our society now like never before ie internet. Addiction (not just youths but adults too). Who controls these ‘information’?  Go back and take a look at what the youth are playing/being exposed.  Take a look at what the youth are being brainwashed.  The point is to understand what the youths are being exposed to. Alarming trends happening now in the channel of media (Youtube/internet) so subtle that adults and even more the youth.

MYPG to start a training called ‘detox program’ next year. They (youth) need to be trained and invested into.  ‘Detox’ is a 2 week program/training. ‘Detox’ is a program to share and expose what’s being brainwashed and then ‘reprogram/ having prayer as the MAIN basis. It’s also a training and preparation for the youth so when God calls them, they (youth) ‘go’ being generation changers.
A leadership team is being trained now to manage/lead the ‘Detox’ program.
Have been called to prepare ‘arks for the flood’ when persecution comes, these youths can withstand. ‘Arks for the flood’ means the hearts of the youths.

Question : Tips of how to set up a LYPG?
Answer :  LYPG are small groups in towns is to be more than 2 youths from different denominations once a week.  To maintain a youth prayer group? Make them move around. Ask them to share. Initiate. There is no fixed formula (unfortunately). It’s a faith and prayer to start one.
Joe Ozawa adds : Prayer is about relationship with God. Speaking and listening. Listening to God is very important.  Acting upon what we hear from God is important. Prayer is about listening to God and then acting.  Allow the youth/teach them to listen.

Question : When is ‘Detox’ happening?
Answer :  Maybe June (to be confirmed)
Problem raised is that many times the leaders of these LYPG leave (ie secondary school, graduates) the group dies. Retraining is needed.  Facilitator is very important.
Added: Discussion raised ‘how do we as leaders raise up a circle of protection for these youths?’
What is needed is guidance. It is the greatest gift for the youth.  Don’t give up on sowing in the lives of these youths.  It’s comforting for the youths that there are adults there supporting them when they fall and still cheering them on.

Children in Prayer
Rev Ann shared how Children in Prayer seminar started and now has evolved into a prayer movement involving 4/14 W, focusing on children ages between 4-14 years old. There is a website available www.childreninprayer.my
Ps Stella Lo from All Saints Cathedral who has been involved in children ministry for a long time, has now discovered how children can be so sharp hearing the Lord and praying accordingly. At the recent Prayer & Worship Seminar with 700 children, she and the Sunday School teachers are amazed and overwhelmed with the way children have responded.
The ones present for this workshop have requested for resources. Ps Stella Lo & Rev Ann will email them the necessary materials.
